The 32nd ICAPP Standing Committee Meeting in Colombo, 2019
On April 6, 2019, the 32nd Standing Committee Meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This significant gathering brought together prominent political leaders from across Asia to discuss key regional issues, promote inter-party cooperation, and work toward peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
The meeting was honored by the presence of distinguished figures, including Hon. Daya Gamage, Minister of Primary Industries, whose active participation underscored Sri Lanka’s commitment to regional collaboration. Other notable attendees included H.E. Ms. Khuon Sudary, Chairwoman of the Asian Cultural Centre and the Asian Political Parties’ Forum, reflecting the blend of cultural and political leadership shaping Asia’s future.
As the official photographer for the Ministry of Primary Industries during this high-profile event, I, Ravindra Weerasinghe, had the privilege of documenting the proceedings and capturing the vibrant atmosphere of this important political forum. Through my lens, I aimed to convey the spirit of dialogue, diplomacy, and cooperation that defined the meeting.
My photographic coverage includes key moments such as:
-
The welcoming ceremonies and formal introductions of delegates
-
Speeches and panel discussions by political leaders, including Minister Daya Gamage
-
Candid interactions between delegates fostering goodwill and understanding
-
The dynamic cultural programs highlighting Asia’s rich heritage
-
Behind-the-scenes glimpses of the organizational efforts by the Ministry of Primary Industries and the ICAPP Secretariat
This collection not only preserves a historic political event but also reflects Sri Lanka’s role as a hub for international dialogue and cooperation in Asia.
