Kingswood College survived a late scare from Ananda College to pull off a thrilling 22–16 victory in their second-round Plate segment encounter of the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2025, held at Bogambara Stadium.

With both teams missing out on Cup contention, this Plate clash was highly anticipated—and it certainly lived up to expectations, delivering end-to-end action and drama till the final whistle.

Ananda College opened the scoring with a penalty, going up 3–0, before Kingswoodians struck back with a try to edge ahead 5–3. Another penalty by the boys from Maradana saw them reclaim the lead and head into halftime with a narrow 6–5 advantage.

The second half saw frequent momentum shifts, as both teams exchanged leads multiple times. Kingswood powered ahead with a converted try to lead 12–6, only for Ananda to respond with a penalty (12–9) and a converted try of their own to take the lead 16–12.

Kingswoodians weren’t done yet. A quick try brought them back ahead 17–16, setting up a tense final 10 minutes. Using their powerful forwards, Kingswood muscled their way to another crucial try, extending the lead to 22–16.
